A Fresh, New Entryway.
The front walk and entrance steps of this home were in fairly good condition but did not suit the character of the house. Constructed in stages using unrelated materials at each step, the end result was a mish mash that looked like an afterthought by someone of questionable design ability. A front walk and entry should present a home to its best advantage, and this one certainly did not.
Gasper designers assessed the charming, tailored character of the house and discussed likes and dislikes with the owners. A natural bluestone walk, steps, and porch floor were chosen from several other good alternatives. The structure was designed with several layering details included to further blend with the home’s architectural character, yet remain charmingly simple. In this way, cost was kept to a minimum, but the value of the installation was maximized.
